Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo is set to inaugurate the newly upgraded Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital in Gusau, Zamfara State, on Tuesday, June 17.

The announcement was made on Monday by Malam Suleiman Idris, spokesperson for Zamfara Governor Dauda Lawal. The event is part of the activities marking Lawal’s second anniversary in office.
Idris stated that the hospital has been completely modernized and fitted with advanced medical equipment in line with international standards.

“Former President Obasanjo will commission the renovated Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital on Tuesday, June 17,” he said. “The facility has undergone a full upgrade and now boasts to 21 century medical infrastructure.”

In addition to the hospital, Obasanjo will also inaugurate newly constructed roads in Gusau’s Government Reserved Area (GRA). These projects fall under the state government’s Urban Renewal Initiative.

The upcoming commissioning follows a series of earlier inaugurations by the Lawal administration, including newly built and rehabilitated schools, hospitals, and other key projects across Zamfara over the past two years.

Governor Lawal has also reinforced security efforts in the state by providing logistical support to security agencies in the fight against banditry and kidnapping.
