The Ondo State Internal Revenue Service (ODIRS) has announced that it generated ₦28.1 billion in Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) between January and June 2025.
This was disclosed in a statement on Monday by the Acting Chairman of ODIRS, Mr. Bayo Rojugbokan, who emphasized the agency’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous growth of the state’s revenue base in line with global best practices.
Rojugbokan reassured residents that the service would keep working tirelessly to boost revenue generation in order to support sustainable development across the state.
According to him, the figure published on the Joint Tax Board (JTB) portal confirms the ₦28.1 billion performance, countering a viral report that erroneously claimed Ondo State recorded only ₦22.5 billion during the same period.
“The attention of ODIRS has been drawn to a misleading report currently circulating on social media and other platforms regarding the state’s IGR for the first half of 2025. We categorically state that the information is incorrect and does not reflect the true revenue performance of the state,” he said.
He urged the public and stakeholders to rely on credible and official sources before sharing financial information to avoid misinformation.
