The Osun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed reports claiming that it has suspended all party meetings over an alleged national crisis.
In a statement issued in Osogbo by the State Publicity Secretary, Hon. Jacob Ayodeji Areola, the party described the report as “false, mischievous, and the handiwork of opposition elements in the state, particularly the All Progressives Congress (APC).”
According to Areola, the publication credited to him was fabricated to create confusion among members of the party and the people of Osun State.
“The statement deceitfully credited to me is nothing but a fabrication from the desperate imagination of the jittery and rejected opposition. It is a baseless attempt to sow confusion into the minds of resolute people of Osun State,” he said.
Areola stressed that the Osun PDP had not suspended any of its political or organizational activities at any level, adding that all party structures remain “intact, vibrant, and fully committed to supporting the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke.”
He further urged party members and the public to disregard the report, which he described as a reflection of the APC’s frustration and desperation to remain politically relevant.
“The PDP in Osun is stable, growing stronger daily, and unwavering in its commitment to the people of the state under the dynamic leadership of Governor Adeleke,” Areola added.
The statement also disclosed that the party’s legal and security teams had begun investigating the source of the fake publication, with a promise that those behind it would be identified and prosecuted.
Areola emphasized that the PDP remained focused on delivering good governance and sustainable development to the people of Osun State, while describing the false report as “a mere beer parlour dream of political drunkards whose hallucinations will never come to pass.”
