President Bola Tinubu has strongly denounced the recent suicide bombing in Konduga, Borno State, labeling the attack as a “cowardly act of terror.” In a Sunday statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President expressed profound grief over the loss of innocent lives.
“The President is deeply saddened by this senseless violence against civilians and mourns the victims of this horrific attack,” the statement read. Tinubu emphasized that such assaults on vulnerable communities demonstrate the desperation of Boko Haram, urging security forces to “redouble counterterrorism operations to eliminate these threats completely.”
The President extended condolences to Borno State residents and directed the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to provide immediate assistance to survivors.
In related developments, Tinubu also expressed solidarity with victims of Saturday’s industrial explosion at a Kano scrap metal facility, which claimed five lives and injured fifteen others. The President called for strict adherence to safety regulations and ordered a thorough investigation into the incident, stressing that “preventable industrial accidents demand full accountability.”
These twin tragedies highlight ongoing security and safety challenges facing northern Nigeria, with the Presidency reaffirming its commitment to protecting citizens and preventing future occurrences.
