Six more deaths have been confirmed following the fire outbreak at Afriland Towers, a six-storey commercial building on Broad Street, Lagos Island, Lagos State.
Officials confirmed the additional fatalities on Thursday as emergency responders intensified search and rescue efforts at the site of the inferno.
The blaze, which engulfed parts of the commercial complex earlier in the week, has left authorities scrambling to assess the full extent of casualties and property damage.
While no final casualty figure has been released, emergency agencies said investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
Afriland Towers, a major business hub on Lagos Island, houses several offices and commercial outlets. The incident has raised concerns over fire safety compliance in high-rise buildings across the state.
Apart from these six, seven deaths had been reportedly recorded in the disaster.
