Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, has denied rumors of his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), reaffirming his loyalty to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Speaking at a thanksgiving ceremony for APGA’s National Chairman, Sylvester Ezeokenwa, Soludo emphasized that APGA is his party and that Anambra is synonymous with APGA.
Soludo highlighted APGA’s progressive legacy, citing the development achievements of past governors, including Peter Obi and Willie Obiano. He assured that after his tenure, another progressive governor would emerge under APGA’s platform.
Soludo who made this disclosure at the Thanksgiving Ceremony of the National Chairman of APGA at the St Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, Fegge, Onitsha South Local Government Area, stated, “APGA is the first registered progressive political parties in Nigeria since 2002 and APGA is and remains our own. “APGA is for the Progressives and you can see unprecedented development in Anambra under APGA and the first was Mr Peter Obi and we all saw development and the next was Chief Willie Obiano and you all here can attest to the fact that Anambra is making progress and now under me Prof. Charles Soludo you can see what is happening in just three years in office and that is why I am saying that Anambra is APGA and APGA is Anambra as simple as that, and there no going anywhere it is APGA all the way ” Continuing, Soludo noted that “Even after my tenure, another progressive governor would come in under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA and nothing else ” he noted.
Meanwhile, APGA National Chairman, Sylvester Ezeokenwa, delivered an emotional address, recounting the challenges he faced in retaining his position as National Chairman. He expressed gratitude to Governor Soludo for his support throughout the ordeal.”I thank God Almighty for today and also thank everyone that played those roles towards retaining this position as National Chairman of the party.”
Especially I remain eternally grateful to Gov Charles Soludo who has always been there for me and I cannot forget one experience when my father took ill three times and my spiritual father Bishop Jonas Benson was there all the way and Rev Fr Ezeoke “…. he pursed to wipe off his tears “Yes my father would have been here today but my mother is here but he is ill and he told me Mr to greet you and thank you for being there for the family ” he noted .
The event showcased the unity and appreciation between Soludo and Ezeokenwa, with both leaders reaffirming their commitment to APGA’s ideals and progress in Anambra State.
