Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan blazed to a commanding victory in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Rabat Diamond League on Sunday, smashing the meet record with a blistering time of 12.45 seconds.
The 2022 world champion and current world record holder was untouchable from the gun, pulling ahead early and never looking back. Her performance not only secured the win but also erased the previous meet record of 12.51 seconds, set by American Brianna McNeal in 2018.
Amusan’s time also marked her season’s best, a clear sign she’s rounding into form with the Paris Olympics on the horizon.
The race, held just before the event’s main broadcast window, delivered fireworks regardless. Dutch hurdler Nadine Visser finished second with a strong 12.67 seconds, while Pia Skrzyszowska of Poland followed closely in third at 12.69 — both season’s bests.
Several others in the lineup turned in impressive showings. With a favorable wind of +1.2 m/s, the field delivered one of the season’s most competitive heats — but none could match Amusan’s electrifying start and smooth execution over the barriers.
