Military forces from Operation Hadin Kai have successfully located and secured 56 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) believed to have been planted by terrorists on the Marte-Dikwa Bridge in Borno State.
Security expert Zagazola Makama shared this information in a Friday post on social media platform X.
The explosives were found during a security sweep conducted by the 24 Brigade stationed in Dikwa, Borno State.
Makama reported that Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) militants had strategically positioned these bombs to create maximum damage and obstruct military and civilian traffic on this vital route.
“Acting on reliable intelligence, soldiers discovered and secured the devices before they could be detonated, recovering a total of 56 fully prepared IEDs from the site,” the post explained.

Specialist bomb disposal teams were immediately sent to the location to safely disarm and remove the explosive devices.
Photographic evidence from the operation reveals the explosives had been distributed across critical sections of the bridge, an important connection between major towns in northern Borno.

Army officials have continued monitoring the area while conducting additional security operations to ensure complete safety.
