In a strategic display of early political mobilization, hundreds of youth supporters and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) converged on Kafin Hausa town, the headquarters of Kafin Hausa Local Government Area, to declare support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s anticipated re-election bid in the 2027 general elections.
The rally, which also doubled as a community sensitization event, was organized by a prominent APC chieftain and former Special Assistant to the Jigawa State Governor on Health, Zakari Sidi Kafin Hausa. It was strategically timed to align with a ceremony honoring Hausa for his contributions to the development of the community and local government.
Addressing the gathering, Zakari Sidi Kafin Hausa emphasized that the event was not merely celebratory but a proactive step to galvanize grassroots support for President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima ahead of the 2027 polls. He urged the youth and community members to recognize and rally behind the administration’s policies, which he described as transformative.
“Nigeria is fortunate to have a leader of President Tinubu’s boldness, experience, and vision at this critical time,” Hausa stated. “Despite initial economic adjustments, his policies are already yielding positive infrastructural and economic changes that will secure a brighter future for all Nigerians.”
He specifically highlighted key initiatives that he believes resonate deeply with Jigawa’s youth and voting population with youth economic empowerment programme and Nigerian education loan fund
The event also served as a voter education forum, with organizers sensitizing attendees on the importance of permanent voter cards PVC, active participation in the electoral process, and the need to support candidates and policies that align with community and national development goals.
Hausa expressed gratitude for the honor bestowed upon him by the community and pledged to redouble his efforts toward facilitating more developmental projects. “This recognition energizes me to do more for our people and to continue advocating for policies that benefit our community and Jigawa State at large,” he said.
Political analysts view this rally as an early indicator of the ruling party strategy to consolidate its support base in Northern Nigeria ahead of the 2027 elections. By aligning local recognition events with broader political messaging, the APC aims to foster a sense of involvement and investment among voters at the grassroots level.
