Seventeen-year-old Nafisa Abdullah Aminu, a brilliant student from Yobe State, Nigeria, has made history by securing first place in the prestigious 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals, held in London, United Kingdom.
Competing against over 20,000 students from 69 countries, including participants from native English-speaking nations, Nafisa showcased exceptional mastery of the English language, earning her the title of the world’s best in English language proficiency.
Representing Nigeria through the Nigerian Tulip International College (NTIC), Yobe, Nafisa’s victory was no small feat. The competition rigorously assessed participants on various aspects of language proficiency, critical thinking, and communication skills, making her triumph a testament not only to her intellectual brilliance but also to the high standard of education she received in Nigeria.
Hassan Salifu, head of the Aminu family, expressed immense pride in Nafisa’s accomplishment, attributing her success to her “dedication, discipline, and the unwavering support of the Yobe State government.”
“Our daughter’s global achievement would not have been possible without the visionary commitment to education by His Excellency, Governor Mai Mala Buni, whose policies have brought international recognition to our state and nation,” the statement read.
Nafisa’s victory has sparked widespread celebration, bringing immense pride to her family, her school, Yobe State, and Nigeria as a whole.
