The Pastor-in-Charge of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Jesus Pinnacle Parish, Pastor Kehinde Omolaja, is of the view that Nigeria can be a much better nation if it’s citizens take the right steps.
Omolaja challenged Nigerians to take active steps toward electing credible leaders who can transform the country.
In an exclusive interview with The Journal Nigeria, Pastor Omolaja said that while Nigerians have legitimate grievances about governance, the constant cycle of lamentation without corresponding political action has not solved any problem.
He called on Christians and the wider citizenry to embrace political participation as a civic duty and a moral responsibility.
“Complaining alone cannot change Nigeria. If we truly want a better country, then everyone must get involved in the political process, starting from the grassroots. It is at the grassroots level that leadership begins, and it is where we can influence the future of our communities and the nation at large,” he said.
The cleric emphasized that political engagement is not limited to politicians alone but a duty for all Nigerians who desire a better society.
He pointed out that many people shy away from politics, leaving the space for the wrong set of leaders to dominate.
According to him, this pattern will only continue unless citizens, particularly Christians, step forward to make a difference.
Pastor Omolaja also drew attention to the ongoing Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), which began last Monday. He described it as an opportunity for Nigerians to prepare for future elections and called on eligible citizens to seize the moment by registering, updating their voter information, and ensuring they have valid voter cards.
