Nigeria’s educational and industrial sectors appear to be receiving a significant boost with foreign investors and international brands showcasing strong interest in the country’s market at the School, Stationery and Office Equipment Expo (SCOFEX) 2025. Held at the Landmark Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, the three-day event brought together exhibitors from 16 countries and over 30 brands.
SCOFEX Nigeria 2025 marked the first time the global exhibition was held in Nigeria, attracting visitors from across the country and neighboring West African nations.
Foreign companies expressed excitement about the Nigerian market, with some planning to start manufacturing in the country to create jobs and make products more affordable.
The expo featured a wide range of education-related items, including school supplies, office materials, art and craft tools, books, computers, and furniture.
Anil Singh from Domes, a leading Indian stationery brand, highlighted Nigeria’s potential, citing the country’s young and energetic population seeking quality products at affordable prices. Domes plans to partner with local businesses and potentially start manufacturing in Nigeria.
Dinesh Chawla from Hindustan Pencils, makers of Nataraj, praised the expo for providing direct access to Nigerian customers, enabling the company to understand local needs and improve its products.
Ashish Jain, CEO of Tecburg, emphasized the event’s goal of building long-term partnerships to improve education quality in Africa. SCOFEX aims to connect African markets with top international brands, ensuring better products, lower prices, and increased job opportunities.
