Afrobeats legend Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has married Edo State lawmaker, Natasha Osawaru, in a private traditional ceremony, marking a new chapter in his personal life just six months after ending his marriage to actress Annie Macaulay.
Although the wedding was held behind closed doors, images and videos from the ceremony surfaced online on Thursday, revealing a regal celebration rooted in cultural elegance. 2Baba appeared in a white short-sleeved embroidered native shirt paired with a white wrapper, coral beads, and a beaded staff, while Natasha dazzled in a red off-shoulder gown, her look completed with the traditional Edo ‘okuku’ beaded crown and multiple coral bead layers symbolising her heritage.

Their union follows a whirlwind romance that began earlier this year. On Valentine’s Eve, 2Baba proposed to Natasha, a move that went public soon after. In April, Natasha paid a courtesy visit to the singer’s mother, Rose Idibia, whose initial reservations — captured in a viral video where she emotionally asked Natasha to “remove the beads” from her son — later gave way to acceptance and blessing.
In a recent appearance on the 234 Mzansi podcast, 2Baba opened up about the journey that led him to Natasha. He described their bond as one of emotional alignment, not superficial attraction, and clarified that his new relationship had no bearing on the end of his previous marriage.
He called Annie an “amazing woman” and explained that their separation was mutual, respectful, and without bitterness. “If a marriage is not working, the couple should try to fix it. But if it still doesn’t work, no one should be forced to stay,” he said. “Only those inside the marriage understand the struggle. Living in bondage isn’t love.”

Annie publicly confirmed their separation during the 17th Headies Awards in Lagos on April 28, 2025, bringing closure to a relationship that spanned over two decades. The couple first met in 1999, welcomed their first child in 2008, and had a fairytale wedding in Dubai in 2013. Despite efforts to reconcile — including a vow renewal in 2022 — the marriage was repeatedly strained, particularly over 2Baba’s continued involvement with Pero Adeniyi, mother of three of his children.
Now serving as the Technical Adviser on Entertainment and Community Outreach to the Benue State Governor, 2Baba appears focused on a new beginning with Natasha — one that blends tradition, love, and renewed purpose.
