The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has blacklisted popular Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, widely known as K1 De Ultimate, following an alleged breach of airport security protocols.
This was made known during a press conference in Abuja by the NCAA Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, who said that an investigation into the matter is currently ongoing.
The incident, which occurred on Tuesday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, has sparked widespread public reaction.
According to reports, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) had earlier launched a probe into what it described as the “unruly behaviour” of the musician during boarding procedures, which caused disruption to flight operations.
K1 De Ultimate was reportedly attempting to board Flight VK201 from Abuja to Lagos while carrying a gold flask containing an unidentified liquid. When ground staff requested to inspect the content of the flask, the singer allegedly dismissed them and resisted the check.
Eyewitnesses claimed that the musician was seen drinking from the flask, which staff suspected to contain alcohol—a substance prohibited on Nigerian aircraft. Following his refusal to comply, he was denied boarding, leading to an altercation and what authorities have deemed a security breach.
The NCAA said it would provide further details once the investigation is complete.
