Victor Osimhen has etched his name into Galatasaray’s modern history, becoming the fastest player to score 50 goals for the Turkish giants since the year 2000.

The Nigerian striker reached the landmark in just 59 appearances, setting a new club record, according to data from Transfermarkt. The feat underlines Osimhen’s explosive impact since arriving in Istanbul.

Although Osimhen was held scoreless in Galatasaray’s 1–1 UEFA Champions League draw with Atlético Madrid, the drought proved short-lived. He found the net in the club’s next outing, scoring Galatasaray’s third goal in a commanding 3–1 league victory over Fatih Karagümrük after Gabriel Sara’s first-half brace.

Osimhen’s record-breaking run builds on a sensational debut season, where he registered 37 goals in 41 matches. He has already added 13 goals this campaign, pushing him past the historic 50-goal mark at unprecedented speed.

The 27-year-old achieved the milestone 10 games quicker than Mauro Icardi, the club captain, who reached 50 goals in 69 appearances after joining Galatasaray in 2022. French striker Bafétimbi Gomis ranks third, having needed 74 matches to reach the same tally.
