FG Condemns Terror Attack In Indian, Demands Global Unity Against Extremism

The Journal Nigeria April 29, 2025

Mohamed Garba

The Federal Government has condemned the deadly terrorist attack in South Kashmir’s Pahalgam region In Indian, that claimed the lives of 26 individuals, most of them tourists, and left scores injured.

In a somber statement released on Tuesday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Kimiebi Ebienfa, the government denounced the incident as both “tragic” and “heinous.”

The deliberate targeting of innocent lives serves only to intensify the suffering not only of the directly affected families but of the international community at large,” Ebienfa stated, reflecting deep sympathy for the government and people of India during this time of sorrow.

Recalling its own history and painful experiences with terrorism, the Federal Government underlined the broader implications of the attack. “Terrorism in all its forms and manifestations is a global menace that requires collective action and firm commitment from the international community,” the statement read, urging nations worldwide to reassess and enhance their cooperative efforts in the fight against extremist violence.

The attack has ignited an outcry beyond India’s borders, with global leaders and international organizations calling for immediate and strengthened measures to prevent such tragic events in the future.

As emergency services and local authorities continue to tend to the wounded and investigate the circumstances surrounding the assault, the emphasis on unity has become paramount. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of India as they recover from this tragedy,” the ministry’s statement concluded, “and we stand united in the shared pursuit of peace, stability, and justice worldwide.”

As nations digest the weight of this latest terror incident, the call for international solidarity is clearer than ever. Leaders have expressed their support for India and reiterated the need for global strategies to counter and ultimately defeat the scourge of terrorism that threatens peace and security on a worldwide scale.
