Nollywood actress Adebimpe Oyebade, popularly known as Mo Bimpe, has pushed back against social media criticism surrounding a brief interaction she had with fellow actor Jide Awobona at a recent film premiere. The actress responded after a short video from the event circulated online, prompting some social media users to question the nature of her interaction with Awobona and speculate about its possible effect on her marriage to actor Lateef Adedimeji. Mo Bimpe, however, said the reaction reflected assumptions about relationships rather than anything unusual about the encounter.

Some viewers interpreted the interaction as inappropriate, while others questioned whether Adedimeji appeared uncomfortable with what was happening beside him. The video, however, showed only a brief moment from the event and did not establish that there was any disagreement between the couple. That did not stop the online discussion. Rather than allowing the speculation to continue without a response, Mo Bimpe addressed the criticism directly. She described Awobona as a family friend and said their interaction was simply a normal conversation between friends.
The actress also rejected the suggestion that her marriage was threatened by her friendships with other men. “My husband is a secure man,” she said.
