A financial dispute involving Nigeria international Victor Osimhen has emerged after Mercedes-Benz reportedly filed a complaint with Italian authorities over an alleged unpaid vehicle lease.
The complaint, said to have been lodged with the Carabinieri, centres on claims that the striker failed to complete payments for a car leased in 2023 and has not returned the vehicle. According to reports by Italian outlet Napolista, the outstanding sum is estimated at €90,000, roughly ₦142 million at current exchange rates.
The development comes despite Osimhen’s standing as one of the highest-earning African footballers. The 27-year-old currently plays for Galatasaray, where he reportedly earns over €20 million annually, following a high-profile move that made him the best-paid player in the history of the Turkish Süper Lig.
