Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen and his partner, Stefanie Ladewig, have welcomed their second child, a baby girl named Liora Audrey, in a week that has delivered the striker both a derby brace and a top-of-the-table finish.
Galatasaray, the Turkish champions where Osimhen plays, announced the birth on Thursday with a message on its official channels: “Our Football A Team player Victor Osimhen and Stefanie have welcomed a baby girl into the world. We congratulate the couple Victor and Stefanie; we wish their newborn baby Liora Audrey a long, healthy, and happy life!”
The couple’s first daughter, Hailey, was born in October 2022. Ladewig, a Cameroonian-German fashion model and social media influencer, is reported to have begun dating Osimhen in 2019, when the Nigerian forward was playing for Wolfsburg in the German Bundesliga. Earlier this month, Turkish media reported that Ladewig escaped unhurt from a three-vehicle road accident in Istanbul while heavily pregnant, a scare that now sits behind the family’s good news.
The arrival comes at a high point in Osimhen’s season. On Monday night, he scored twice in the first half as Galatasaray beat Istanbul rivals Fenerbahce 2-1 in a tense derby, lifting the defending champions back to the top of the Turkish Super Lig with 22 points from nine matches, while Fenerbahce slipped to fifth on 16 points.
Those two goals took the 27-year-old to eight goals and three assists in nine league matches this season, a return that keeps him among the league’s joint-top scorers. Across all competitions, his season tally stands at nine goals, including his strike in Galatasaray’s 4-2 Champions League win over Lille, and he has done it in fewer than 500 league minutes, with an average match rating of 8.34, among the highest in the competition.
His standing in Istanbul was secured this summer, when Galatasaray signed him permanently from Napoli for 75 million euros, the highest incoming transfer fee in Turkish football history, on a contract running to June 2029. The deal followed a 2024/25 loan season in which his goals helped the club to the title.
The numbers extend to the national team, where Osimhen remains Nigeria’s attacking reference point: 52 caps and 35 goals for the Super Eagles, figures that leave him climbing the country’s all-time scoring chart with years to run.
Galatasaray have included him in the squad for Friday’s league fixture against T. Konyaspor, so the celebration will be brief by professional standards. For a striker whose season has already delivered a derby-winning double, a league lead and a Champions League goal, the birth of his second daughter lands as the one result this week that needed no scoreboard.
