Nigerian singer L.A.X has married his partner, Ella, in a private white wedding ceremony in Malta, eight months after their engagement and months after their traditional wedding in Nigeria.
Nigerian singer and songwriter Damilola Afolabi, popularly known as L.A.X, has officially married his partner, Ella, in a white wedding ceremony held in Naxxar, Malta. The couple exchanged vows on Wednesday, September 16, in an intimate ceremony attended by family and close friends. L.A.X announced the marriage on Instagram, sharing pictures and videos from the ceremony with his followers. “Legally hitched to the love of my life, in the most beautiful city. Malta, you have our hearts,” the singer wrote.
Videos from the ceremony showed the couple in their wedding outfits as they exchanged vows, while another clip captured them making a celebratory entrance into their reception as guests cheered and danced along.
From engagement to marriage
The Malta wedding comes eight months after L.A.X proposed to Ella. The singer announced their engagement on January 16, 2026, sharing footage of the proposal on social media. The romantic outdoor setup featured flowers and the initials “D & E”, representing Damilola and Ella. At the time, L.A.X captioned the post, “To loving you forever always.”
The couple had reportedly been together for several years before the proposal. Ella, who has been identified in reports as a fashion entrepreneur, accepted the singer’s proposal during the intimate moment. Their journey to marriage continued in Nigeria, where they held their traditional wedding ceremony in June. The Malta ceremony therefore marked another major milestone for the couple, bringing together their traditional and white wedding celebrations across two countries.

Who is L.A.X?
Born Damilola Afolabi, L.A.X began his music career as a rapper before pursuing a solo career. He gained widespread recognition in 2013 following the release of “Caro”, his collaboration with Wizkid under Starboy Entertainment. The song went on to receive a nomination at the 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.
He later released “Ginger” with Wizkid and established his own record label, Rasaki Music. Over the years, L.A.X has continued to release music and collaborate with artistes across Nigeria and Africa. Beyond music, the singer also took on a corporate role in 2026. In April, he was appointed executive director of SIFAX Logistics, a subsidiary of SIFAX Group.
With the Malta ceremony, L.A.X and Ella have now officially begun their marriage after a year marked by an engagement, a traditional wedding in Nigeria and a destination wedding in Europe. For the singer, the latest celebration represents a new chapter away from the stage — this time as a married man.
