Toyin Abraham, Jide Kosoko, Eniola Badmus, Pasuma and other entertainment personalities have been named in the Lagos APC campaign council ahead of the 2027 election.
The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has named several Nollywood actors and Fuji musicians as members of its campaign council ahead of the 2027 governorship election. Toyin Abraham, Eniola Badmus, Jide Kosoko, Bimbo Akintola and Fathia Balogun are among the entertainment figures included in the party’s campaign structure.g
The council is expected to be inaugurated on Friday, September 18, at the APC Secretariat on ACME Road in Ikeja. The list, released by the Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Media Centre, assigns some of the entertainers roles in the council’s Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate.
Toke Benson-Awoyinka will lead the directorate, while veteran actor Jide Kosoko will serve as Co-Director. Actress Eniola Badmus was appointed Deputy Director. Akeem Alimi, popularly known as Ajala Jalingo, was listed as Secretary of the directorate, with Dare Olateju named Assistant Secretary.
Other Nollywood personalities on the list include Adebayo Salami, popularly known as Oga Bello, Saheed Balogun, Bukky Wright, Yinka Quadri and Tayo Sobola. The Fuji music industry also has a strong presence in the directorate. Pasuma, Obesere, Adewale Ayuba, Malaika and Osupa were included alongside singer Small Doctor.
The Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate is one of several units created under the broader campaign council. Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu was named Chairman of the full council, while Deputy Governor Kadri Obafemi Hamzat will serve as Deputy Chairman.
The appointments bring together political officeholders and well-known figures from Lagos’ film and music industries as the party begins organising its campaign ahead of the 2027 election. Toyin Abraham, one of the actresses named in the council, recently announced veteran actor Pete Edochie as a cast member in her forthcoming film, Bestie. The film is scheduled for nationwide cinema release on December 16.
The APC has not provided further details about the specific responsibilities assigned to every entertainer included in the campaign council. The full structure is scheduled to be formally inaugurated on September 18 as preparations for the 2027 Lagos governorship campaign continue.
