“I’ve Done Five DNA Tests, I’m Not Your Father” — Davido Slams Fresh Paternity Claim
Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has publicly dismissed a renewed paternity claim after a 12-year-old girl, Mitchelle Anuoluwapo, took to social media to request a DNA test to establish whether he is her father.
The controversy resurfaced on Thursday when Anuoluwapo posted an emotional appeal on Instagram, describing herself as Davido’s “oldest daughter” and calling on the singer to submit to a DNA test. The post quickly gained traction online, drawing widespread public attention and mixed reactions.
In her statement, the teenager detailed the emotional and psychological strain she says she has endured over the years due to the disputed claim, including bullying from classmates who mocked her assertion that Davido is her father.
“This year I become a teenager. As I grow older, I want to establish my identity,” she wrote, explaining that she had been bullied since the age of six and often returned home in tears after being ridiculed by peers.

She further revealed that the experience took a toll on her mental health, leading her to seek professional support. According to her, the Instagram account used to make the appeal had been inactive for years and was recently revived to tell her story.
Anuoluwapo said she had focused on her education despite the controversy and made what she described as a respectful and personal appeal to the singer.
“As I transition into a young woman, I am respectfully asking Mr David Adeleke (#Davido) for a DNA test to establish my identity,” she wrote.
“This test is between my dad and I. It is something I want. It is the right thing to do,” she added, thanking Nigerians who she said had supported her emotionally over the years.

Davido, however, responded forcefully, insisting the matter had long been resolved. In the comment section of the post, the award-winning singer stated that he had already undergone five separate DNA tests, all of which returned negative results.
“I’ve taken five DNA tests, all negative. I am not your father,” he wrote.
The singer went further in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), expressing frustration over what he described as persistent and unfounded claims.
“I actually have children. Never met your mom. She’s an obsessed fan lying to you. This needs to stop,” he added.
Davido revealed that the tests were conducted across multiple hospitals, including facilities chosen by both parties, to eliminate any doubt.
“I chose three hospitals and they chose two. All came out negative. This is the last time I’m speaking on this nonsense,” he wrote.
While directing his anger largely at the girl’s mother, Davido said he did not blame the child and suggested legal action may be taken to end the dispute permanently.
The singer has previously addressed similar claims in the past, but his latest response marks one of his most direct and emotional public reactions to the long-running allegation.
