Man United Out As Saudi Club Tables €120m For Osimhen
Galatasaray are facing renewed pressure to part with Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen after receiving a €120 million offer from an unnamed Saudi Arabian club, bringing to two the number of nine figure bids currently sitting before the Turkish champions as the summer transfer window gathers pace.
Turkish transfer insider Serhan Türk reported that the Istanbul giants now hold two separate €120 million proposals, one from a European club and another from Saudi Arabia, although the identity of the Saudi side has not been disclosed. The development follows an earlier €120 million inquiry from Atlético Madrid, formally tabled on June 11 and rejected, as well as a verbal offer of €125 million reportedly made by another unnamed European club.
The renewed scramble for the 27 year old is hardly surprising. Osimhen enjoyed an outstanding first full season at Galatasaray after completing a permanent €75 million move from Napoli in July 2025, one of the largest transfer fees in Turkish football history. He returned 22 goals and eight assists in 33 matches across all competitions, firing the club to a successful defence of their Süper Lig title. The performance extended a remarkable run in Istanbul that began with his prolific loan spell in the 2024/25 campaign, and echoed the form that made him Serie A top scorer when Napoli won their historic 2023 league title.
Galatasaray’s response to the mounting interest has been consistent and firm. Club president Dursun Özbek is reported to value the striker at €150 million and has declined to open negotiations with any suitor. Turkish pundit Nevzat Dindar, who said he spoke with Özbek in Kemerburgaz, quoted the president as insisting the club “absolutely does not intend to sell Osimhen,” adding that any departure would require an offer of at least €150 million and that “Osimhen also has no intention of leaving.”
Beyond holding the line on valuation, the club is preparing a package designed to make staying irresistible. Galatasaray are reportedly finalising a new long term contract running until 2029 with a significantly improved salary, and plan to hand Osimhen the captain’s armband following the expected departure of Mauro Icardi, along with the iconic number nine shirt. The club is also targeting a top class midfielder to strengthen its UEFA Champions League ambitions, a signal that Osimhen is viewed as the cornerstone of the next phase rather than a sellable asset.
One long rumoured destination has now fallen away. According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United have ruled out a move, with Galatasaray’s asking price and Osimhen’s salary, boosted by Turkey’s favourable tax regime for high earners, placing the striker beyond their reach. Manager Michael Carrick, who has already signed Atalanta midfielder Ederson, is expected to pursue alternatives, with Marcus Rashford in line for reintegration and Joshua Zirkzee widely expected to leave after two underwhelming seasons.
The Saudi dimension revives a familiar storyline. Saudi Pro League clubs have previously offered Osimhen personal terms exceeding $50 million per year, and Al Hilal famously pursued him during his Napoli days in 2023. He has repeatedly resisted the Gulf’s riches, with a Premier League move consistently described as among his long term ambitions.
For now, the balance of power rests firmly with Galatasaray. With the player under contract, the club unwilling to negotiate, and no bidder yet meeting the €150 million threshold, the saga surrounding one of world football’s most coveted strikers looks set to run deep into the summer.
