ADC Meets Deadline, Uploads Atiku, Amaechi’s Names To INEC
The African Democratic Congress has successfully uploaded the particulars of its Presidential and Vice-Presidential candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s nomination portal, the party announced on Tuesday.
The party said the uploaded candidates were former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, its presidential candidate, and former Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi, its vice-presidential candidate.
The National Publicity Secretary, Malam Bolaji Abdullahi, announced the development on his X handle on Tuesday night, describing it as another significant step in preparations for the general elections.
“We are pleased to announce successful upload of the names and particulars of our presidential and vice-presidential candidates to the INEC nomination portal,” Abdullahi stated.
This, he said, underscores ADC’s commitment to offering Nigerians a credible alternative anchored on competence, unity, and national renewal.
The development comes as political parties are expected to upload names and particulars of their presidential and National Assembly candidates on INEC’s nomination portal between June 27 and July 11, according to the commission’s timetable for the 2027 general elections.
INEC had earlier confirmed that nine registered political parties have collected access codes to upload their candidates’ particulars for the Presidential and National Assembly elections ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The ADC’s upload follows the party’s primaries and internal processes that produced the Atiku-Amaechi ticket. According to the INEC timetable, submission of nomination forms for governorship and State Assembly elections is scheduled from July 18 to August 8.
