Asake submits four entries for 2027 Grammy consideration

Nigerian Afrobeats singer Asake is reportedly seeking recognition at the 2027 Grammy Awards with four entries, including his album M$NEY and collaborations with Wizkid and DJ Snake.

Nigerian singer Asake has reportedly submitted four entries for consideration at the 2027 Grammy Awards, with his latest album and three songs featuring in multiple categories, according to reports circulating online.

The reported entries include M$NEY, his collaboration with Wizkid, JOGODO, GRATITUDE and WORSHIP, featuring French-Algerian DJ and producer DJ Snake.

According to a list published by music platform Album Talks on October 8, M$NEY has reportedly been entered in the Album of the Year and Best Global Music Album categories.

JOGODO, his collaboration with Wizkid, is reportedly being considered for Best African Music Performance, while GRATITUDE has reportedly been entered in Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best African Music Performance.

Meanwhile, WORSHIP, his collaboration with DJ Snake, is reportedly being considered for Best Dance Pop Recording.

The reported entries place Asake’s music across the Grammys’ general-field categories and genre-specific awards, although the Recording Academy has not publicly confirmed the individual submissions.

Four entries, multiple categories

The reported list covers four releases across eight category placements.

M$NEY, Asake’s latest album, is reportedly being considered for two album categories, including Album of the Year, one of the Grammys’ major general-field awards.

His collaboration with Wizkid, JOGODO, is reportedly entered in Best African Music Performance, a category introduced at the 2024 Grammy Awards to recognise outstanding recordings in African music.

GRATITUDE has the widest reported spread among the four entries, appearing in three categories. These are Record of the Year, which recognises the overall performance and production of a recording; Song of the Year, which recognises songwriting; and Best African Music Performance.

The fourth entry, WORSHIP, brings Asake into the Best Dance Pop Recording category through his collaboration with DJ Snake.

The reported category placements have generated interest among Nigerian music followers, particularly because the list includes both major general-field awards and categories connected to specific musical styles.

What the submissions mean

Submitting a recording for Grammy consideration does not automatically guarantee a nomination.

According to the Recording Academy, eligible recordings are submitted during a designated entry period and subsequently reviewed for eligibility. Genre screening committees assess the entries before the first-round voting process determines the official nominees.

For the 2027 Grammy Awards, the submission window ran from July 7 to August 21, 2026. The eligibility period covers recordings and works released between August 31, 2025, and August 28, 2026.

The Recording Academy has scheduled first-round voting for October 12 to October 22, with the nominees for the 69th Grammy Awards due to be announced on November 16, 2026. The awards ceremony will take place on February 7, 2027, in Los Angeles.

Asake’s reported submissions will therefore need to pass through the Academy’s eligibility and voting processes before any nominations can be confirmed.

Asake’s Grammy journey

The reported entries come as Asake continues to expand his international profile through album releases, collaborations and live performances.

The singer, whose real name is Ahmed Ololade, has previously received Grammy recognition through nominations, establishing a presence in the awards conversation surrounding Nigerian and African music.

In July 2026, Spotify highlighted his album M$NEY in a special live performance at London’s Theatre Royal Drury Lane. The event featured an orchestra of more than 40 musicians and was subsequently made available as a concert film and live album on Spotify.

His reported 2027 submissions also reflect the range of sounds represented in his recent work, from Afrobeats and global music to a dance-pop collaboration.

However, the final outcome remains uncertain until the Recording Academy releases its official nominations.

For now, the reported list suggests that Asake’s music has been put forward for consideration in several categories ahead of the 2027 Grammy Awards, with fans awaiting confirmation of whether any of the entries will advance to the final nominees list.
