Nigerian goalkeeper Maduka Okoye and American rapper Cardi B have been spotted together again, this time in Milan during Milan Fashion Week. The pair were seen at an event on Tuesday, September 22, where videos circulating on social media showed them chatting and spending time together. Their latest appearance has renewed speculation about the nature of their relationship.
Okoye, who plays for Italian Serie A club Udinese, was in Milan as part of the club’s presence at Fashion Week. Udinese had him represent the club at an event, where he modelled the team’s new third kit. Cardi B was also in the city for Vogue World: Milano. The rapper made a surprise appearance on the runway at the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, wearing a vintage Versace dress from the brand’s Spring/Summer 2018 collection.
Another public appearance together
The Milan sighting is the latest in a series of occasions where Cardi B and Okoye have been seen together. The two first attracted significant attention in July when they appeared together during Paris Couture Week. Okoye was photographed sitting beside Cardi B at the Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture show.
They were also seen together in Venice later that month, where they had dinner at Gio’s restaurant at the St. Regis Venice with a group of other people. In early September, the pair were again spotted around Udine, where Okoye plays his club football.
Their repeated appearances have led to speculation that the two could be romantically involved. However, neither Cardi B nor Okoye has publicly confirmed that they are in a relationship.
What Cardi B has said about Okoye
Cardi B addressed the growing interest in Okoye during an interview with Vogue Arabia in August. Speaking about the goalkeeper, she said, “He was really sweet. When you see him on social media, he looks very strict and stern, but he is very kind.”
When asked whether she hoped to see more of him, the rapper replied, “I hope so.” The comments added to the public speculation surrounding the two, but Cardi B did not describe Okoye as her boyfriend or confirm that they were dating.
Okoye’s Milan appearance comes during Super Eagles camp
The latest sighting also attracted attention in Nigeria because Okoye had not yet joined the Super Eagles camp in Akwa Ibom as of Tuesday, when the team’s first training session took place. Okoye was among the 24 players invited by head coach Eric Chelle for Nigeria’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.
Twenty-three players had reported to camp by Tuesday, leaving Okoye as the only invited player yet to join the squad at that point. His appearance in Milan therefore became a subject of discussion among Nigerian football fans, particularly after footage of him with Cardi B emerged online.
Reports said Okoye was expected to join the national team camp afterwards.
From Paris to Milan
The Milan encounter continues a pattern that has kept the two in the public eye since the summer. Their first widely reported appearance together came at the Jean Paul Gaultier show in Paris. They were later photographed together in Venice, while further sightings followed around Udine and now Milan.
Both also work with stylist Kollin Carter, who has styled them at fashion events. For now, their relationship remains unconfirmed.
