Portable Demands More Money From Tinubu After APC Campaign Rally

Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has called on President Bola Tinubu and his son, Seyi Tinubu, to pay him additional money following his participation in an All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign rally in Lagos.

The singer made the demand after the rally, held at Onikan Stadium on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, where he campaigned and entertained supporters of the ruling party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a video circulating on social media, Portable was seen lying on the stadium floor while insisting that he wanted to see the president and his son before leaving the venue.

The singer complained about the physical stress he experienced during the event, claiming that the crowd had almost crushed him.

“I want to see Tinubu and Seyi Tinubu; they have almost squeezed me to death. I have fainted; it is Tinubu that is winning. Did we not collect money? Tinubu, pay me more money; I am feeling so much heat,” he said.

Despite acknowledging that he had already received payment for the event, Portable maintained that his efforts and the physical strain he experienced deserved additional compensation.

His manager, Babylov, was also seen in the video attempting to persuade him to get up as they prepared to leave the stadium.

Reports following the event suggested that the singer fainted amid overcrowding at the venue. However, the circumstances surrounding the reported incident have not been independently established.

Portable’s demand has drawn attention on social media, with his comments generating discussions about his participation in the APC rally and his request for additional payment after the event.

Earlier in October, the singer had publicly stated that he received payment for his involvement in campaign activities supporting Tinubu.

In a video that circulated online, Portable said he had previously struggled financially and could not give money to people on the streets as he wanted. He claimed that receiving payment for the campaign had improved his financial situation.

“I was broke before, that’s why I haven’t been spraying money for the street, but now, I want to do rally for Tinubu, they’ve paid me, I’ve collected money and now I’ll show love to the street,” he said.

The singer also declared his support for the president, linking the payment he said he received to his willingness to participate in campaign activities.

As of Wednesday, October 14, neither President Tinubu nor Seyi Tinubu had publicly responded to Portable’s latest demand, according to available reports. The amount the singer received for the rally and whether he will receive additional payment also remain unclear.
