Defending champions Nigeria have been drawn alongside Zambia, Egypt and Malawi in Group C of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), following the official draw conducted ahead of the tournament.

Nigeria’s clash with Zambia is expected to draw particular attention, as it will be a repeat of their quarter-final meeting at the 2024 WAFCON, where the Super Falcons recorded a dominant 5–0 victory over the Copper Queens.
Host nation Morocco, runners-up in the last two editions of the tournament, headline Group A, where they will face Algeria, Senegal and Kenya. Group A matches will be played at the Moulay Al Hassan Stadium in Rabat.
Former champions South Africa were drawn in Group B alongside Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso and Tanzania. All Group B fixtures are scheduled for the Al Madina Stadium in Rabat. The Banyana Banyana are widely tipped to progress from the group as they look to reclaim the title they won in 2022.

The 2026 WAFCON tournament will run from March 17 to April 3, 2026, across multiple cities in Morocco.
The competition, which was originally scheduled for last year, will also serve as Africa’s qualification pathway to the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup. The top four teams at the tournament will represent the continent at the global showpiece in Brazil.
