Galatasaray Slam Door On €125m Osimhen Bid As Asking Price Hits €150m
Galatasaray have rejected a €125 million offer for Victor Osimhen, reaffirming their determination to keep the Super Eagles striker despite intensifying pressure from Europe’s wealthiest clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.
The offer, reported by Turkish outlet Forza Cimbom, was turned down without negotiation by the Turkish champions, who had already rebuffed a €120 million proposal from Atletico Madrid earlier this month. The latest rejection signals that Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek intends to hold firm, having publicly stated the club has no interest in selling even for €150 million.
That valuation is no accident. Speaking to Haber Sarı Kırmızı, journalist Süleyman Rodop reported that Galatasaray “will not consider any offer for Victor Osimhen below 150 million euros.” The Nigerian is contracted in Istanbul until 2029, leaving the Lions firmly in control of any talks.
Manchester United, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid remain in pursuit of the 27-year-old, with the club making clear that no bid below their asking price will be entertained. The figure reflects a market in which proven centre-forwards guaranteeing 20 goals a season have become among football’s most valuable assets. Only a handful of fees in the game’s history have exceeded what Atletico tabled.
Galatasaray’s stance is rooted in Osimhen’s extraordinary output. He has scored 59 goals in 74 appearances since arriving in Turkey, including 15 league goals and five assists in 22 matches this season, alongside seven goals and three assists in 10 UEFA Champions League outings before the club’s round-of-16 elimination by Liverpool. His 22 goals and eight assists across the 2025/26 campaign were central to a fourth consecutive Süper Lig title.
The resolve to keep him has been stiffened by the expected exit of Argentine forward Mauro Icardi, whose contract expires at the end of June, with Juventus reportedly monitoring his situation. Losing both forwards in one window would leave Galatasaray dangerously thin in attack as they chase continued domestic dominance and a deeper European run.
The Turkish giants have moved to deepen Osimhen’s investment in the club. The Journal previously reported that Galatasaray are prepared to hand him the captain’s armband and the iconic No. 9 jersey currently worn by Icardi. Head coach Okan Buruk is said to fully back the captaincy plan, which is tied directly to Icardi’s future.
Club officials reportedly believe such gestures of leadership and identity may not be immediately available at clubs like United, Arsenal or Chelsea, where established dressing-room hierarchies already exist. The context matters. United, under new manager Michael Carrick, finished third in the Premier League with 69 goals and reportedly view Osimhen as a dream signing should Joshua Zirkzee depart, with a budget said to range between £110 million and £130 million. Arsenal are pushing a package reported around €130 million.
The pursuit echoes a long courtship. Osimhen, who cost €75 million from Napoli in 2024 in a Turkish transfer record, has been linked at various points with Barcelona, PSG, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, yet none has matched Atletico’s formal bid. He has spoken warmly of his time in Istanbul and expressed a desire to remain, leaving negotiations to his representatives.
With the window open for several more months, his future will stay a live subject of speculation.
